Staff

The strong and positive reputations of the Retina Imaging Centre among our patients is achieved in no small part by the care and compassion shown by our three permanent staff members supporting Dr. Uniat.

They are:

Winnie Munro - Ophthalmic assistant

Following 16 years as a medical assistant and cardiac technician, Winnie joined the staff of Dr. Uniat in 2000. She undertook her training as an ophthalmic assistant at the Royal Alexandra Hospital eye clinic and - in 2003 - attended a workshop at Duke University, North Carolina, to undertake training in the uses and application of the Zeiss optical coherence tomography unit. Winnie now carries out all the OCT testing of Dr. Uniat's patients.

Marian Kwasnitza, RN - Retina vitreous nurse

Marian has worked in the opthalmology field for more than 25 years and is a member of CSORN (The Canadian Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses). Prior to joining Dr. Uniat's staff in 1995, Marian had spent 13 years working with a cataract cornea specialist and 4 years with a general ophthalmologist. Caring and compassionate with patients, she has developed a solid reputation for her ability to teach patients how to adapt to changing circumstances in their vision capability.

Mary Roy - Receptionist

Mary has eight years experience as a medical secretary/receptionist, and is the person responsible for keeping the day to day operations moving to schedule. Like all the clinic's staff, Mary takes pains to be caring and courteous in providing help and assistance to all the clinic's clients.
